The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) expanded coverage to more people, but health care costs continue to increase at an unsustainable rate, not everyone is covered, and many of us spend way too much time worrying about which insurance to get and avoid getting needed care due to high deductibles.
By contrast, "Medicare for All" is a plan for comprehensive health care that covers everyone and includes vision, dental, long-term care and other important coverage that isn't included in basic Medicare coverage today. No longer would you need to worry about co-pays and deductibles or need to haggle with an insurance company over your coverage.
How will this work and how is this possible? How will it produce cost savings overall and improve overall quality of care while leaving nobody out? How can we address the current shortage of primary care physicians? What are the specifics of the bills that have been introduced in Congress? And why are big Pharma and health insurance companies trying so hard to prevent it from being passed?
Join us for a teach-in the evening of Saturday August 17 where we’ll strive to answer all your questions.
